MARCH- OCTOBER
Tadpoles and Joeys Club
9am – 10am on every Saturday from 1 March to 31 October 2016
Explore the plants, animals and people of Central Australia with fun, games & craft for 3 to 12 year olds. Activities free once entered the Desert Park. Parent/Guardian supervision required. Remember if you are a NT local purchase a Territorian Pass and receive 12 months unlimited entry. Download the Tadpoles and Joeys Club flyer .

JANUARY

Desert Explorer Program 13 & 20 January 2016

Program for children 8-12 years to spend a day behind the scenes of a working zoo and botanical garden. Fees apply.

MARCH

March into the Desert Park 11 March 2016, 5pm - 8pm

Entertainment and activities for the whole family with FREE entry from 5pm! Including animal encounters, training sessions, special walks, talks, kids activities and displays.

Easter Bilby Family Fun Day 27 March 2016, 12pm – 4pm

A day of special bilby talks, treasure hunt, competitions and lots to learn and discover about our beloved Bilby.

APRIL

School Holidays - Bilbies Home 3 April – 10 April 2016

A week of special talks, presentations and children’s activities learning about the Bilby.

Desert Explorer Program 6 & 8 April 2016

Program for children 8-12 years to spend a half day behind the scenes of a working zoo and botanical garden. Fees apply.

MAY

Mother’s Day at your Desert Park 8 May 2015

Special lunch menu in the Coolamon Café, plus a gift from our garden for each mother dining in the café.

Friends of the Desert Park - My Desert Diary - the Exhibition 8 - 21 May 2015

World Environment Day 5 June 2016

Celebrate the biggest day for positive environmental action! Make today the day you visit the Desert Park and see what you can do to make a positive change.

JULY

NAIDOC Week 3 – 10 July 2016

A series of cultural presentations and displays in celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Desert Explorer Program 13 and 20 July 2016 Program for children 8-12 years to spend a day behind the scenes of a working zoo and botanical garden. Fees apply.

AUGUST

Red Centre Bird Festival 17 - 21 August 2016

Splendid colours and irrepressible antics are just some of what is in store. Birds inspire so many people – from those who like to head out bush replenishing their souls, to those inspired and moved by art, culture and photography.

SEPTEMBER

Threatened Species Spectacular 3 & 4 September 2016

As the nation celebrates National Threatened Species Day on 7 September, Alice Springs Desert Park will also celebrate with a weekend of activities. Discover and learn the stories about the threatened species.

Wildflower Wonder 25 September – 2 October 2016

When the desert comes alive with the beautiful textures, shapes and colours of our wonderful wildflowers. Take part in special talks and activities.
